sent in the wrong file before. edited it again. changed the title, made it a little wider to fit the A2 format and just found out i have to use a four color process so i highlighted the girl with some washed out colors. i really have to finish this pretty soon but i'm still not too sure. any suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks to everyone who commented last time.
(i just edited the original ideas. there was a little confusion regarding the previous post which were just a range of different ideas in one page. this one is the next idea for the poster. The idea behind it is that paul renner created 'futura' so i created it as an old sci-fi poster. very different ideas of the future etc. and i then took the text, "at last a typeface that captures the spirit of the times" into a more literal translation by the robot representing the typeface 'futura' capturing the "spirit of the times," (the female youth). her face is made up of type and he has kinda 'captured' it with his typewriting head. something along those lines.)
I think the face of the robot stands out too much. It seems to bed just brighter than the red in the text. Maybe if it was the same red it would look better. Of course, I could just be seeing things. I'm not sure how well the double image of the face fits. Maybe you should just go with the face that is in the same colors as the other image? If not, I suggest englaring the double image so that it falls behind some of the text at the bottom. It seems too seperate.
the illustrations, as usual, are near to perfect. however, the composition, or rather the division of the two parts you made is a lil annoying. i suggest that the part on the right be fused better with the illustration and put at the bottom, with typography merging with color skeme of the illustration, and the re-usage of the red in the robot, and the near absence of white.
i can only help with the composition, as i dont know the typographer, but i'll be sure to chek him just now.

:] lick the disbelief off our faces - hitting rock bottom :]
thanks. suggestions noted. these were just some initial seperate concepts to work with. i'll put renner's face over the text. i was gonna have his face completely made of futura type. the colors still aren't final yet.
thanks. this was just a few seperate ideas. the poster on the left isn't going to include the text and images on the right. i just tossed all my ideas in one place to get some feedback
I love this.
The sci-fi thing is great and is very reminicent of those old sci-fi movies.

Anyhow. The overall concept is good, but the face on the space dude/robot is very not cool. Leaving his face blank, or maybe MUCH lighter, would help. It is so garish, and I do not think it helps the picture any.
If I were you, I would consider experimenting with the text in the bottom right. It seems like it could be much better, or stand out more. From this being a poster point of view, they words do not splay well with the overall image, I think.
Maybe make the whol thing longer and extend the division between the sci-fi thing and the text part.
The overlapping letters I think are a little too light, but are definitely a good thing. Maybe try flipping their direction? I do not know exactly how movement of an image changes if you change the direction of that, but give it a shot. Actually, because the image seems to be going from top to bottom, switching the direction might help.
Uh, again, I think making the poster longer rather than wider would benefit. The proportions are good between the sci-fi and the text, but it seems too simple having just a simple division like that.
Extending also might help with that concept of a sci-fi comic book, instead of a sci-fi coffee table book that it looks like now.
I really like this, and I see much potential. Don't be hasty and label this as done, because revision is sometimes the greatest help to any work of art.
Great work. I would love to see the final final product!
My only problem was the right side with the typography, but i see in your replies to other comments that it's just for idea's. Otherwise i have absolutely no complains, excellent work!

try a bubbly font. don't quite get the placement of the smaller portrait in relation to the distorted larger one.
